Read This Before You Buy Equestrian Books…
By: Travis Moore Still, training alone will not make for faster learning of all things equestrian. You need great equestrian books to help you along your way. After all, books are time-tested methods of passing on knowledge from people who have it to those needing it. In today’s digital age, books can be found everywhere, making picking just the right one difficult. Here are a few tips when shopping for equestrian books: * Take it from the experts – Equestrian books to stick with are those penned by reputable equestrians. While it is true that you cannot judge books by their covers, you could check the book’s back for the author’s name before buying it. In becoming great equestrians, you need info. But you should also make sure the source of the information is reliable. Judging expertise is not easy. There are horse riding greats who would be unable to pass on knowledge to other people. Given this, it is still up to you to gauge whether the author is capable of educating you on how to become good equestrians or not. * You decide – The hunt for the best equine books starts with you. Look at yourself. Determine how much you already know and what else you think you ought to know. A single book is unlikely to cover everything equestrian-related in detail. Examining yourself is a must if you are to find out exactly what you require in a book. * Budget check – Equine books can get pretty expensive. Check that you have the finances before heading out to the local bookstore. The Internet provides loads of info on a variety of subjects so if money is a problem, you can use this as a fallback. But if you really want to ensure you are getting the correct info, equine books are your best bet. * Research, research – Do not pay for something without first checking that it actually includes info you could use. If borrowing copies of horse books is an option, take it. This lets you leaf through the book to get the details you need. If not, you could always try researching the book online to find out what it is all about. Read reviews, look at the ratings along with the recommendations to determine if the equestrian books are worth buying. * Read it – What good are equestrian books if you do not read them? The only way to become more knowledgeable is to actually use the resources. Many assume that just having the book around is enough since they can consult it anytime they have a question. Wrong. You have to read the entire book to get the most out of it. * Surf’s up - Visit or join specific equestrian or horse riding-related sites. National or global organizational groups maintain sites, hold conferences and publish e-zines with the latest info on particular topics and authors. People need to hit the equestrian books if they want to learn more
about equestrianism. Once you have a general idea of the sport and want to
learn more, read some more on the subject and consider combining it with
some practical lessons or training. The Internet and bookstores contain a
boatload of information on the equestrian sport so be sure to check them
out. |
